In June 2025, I finally got the chance to back to my mom’s hometown, Long Khánh, Đồng Nai. I used to spend my childhood summers here, but as I grew older, my summers became filled with travels to other places. After so many years away, I realized how much I missed those little moments especially the mornings when bà Sinh would take me to the market and treat me to my favorite breakfast, bánh ướt (Vietnamese steamed rice rolls). This time, I wasn’t just there to enjoy the food and the memories. I wanted to capture the heartbeat of the market, the way I remembered it from those childhood summers.​
